My Cozy Fall HomeOctober 10, 2017
October is half over and if you follow along on Instagram, you know I’ve been hosting a photo challenge where we share our homes by using the hashtag:: #MyCozyFallHome. If you’d like to join in, we’d love to have you! Today I though I’d share a few of my favorite posts.
Chad’s Team Keurig, I’m Nespresso 4 Life. And I add a little life to our coffee corner with some natural objects. The driftwood is one of my favorite things ever, I found it at The Depot at Gibson Mill in Concord, NC. The grey cabinet originally started off on the floor in our hall, but I needed something to organize mugs and such. It’s been perched on the kitchen counter here for over a year.
Autumn doesn’t require us to buy 150 pumpkins (although I’m tempted because I love ‘kins). Welcome fall like a Cozy Minimalist and shop the yard for a few branches.
It’s free, simple and beautiful. Also, I always try to break/cut the branches a lot longer than what feels normal. Big branches add presence and drama.
I heart word art. My latest addition to my personal collection is from @houseofbelonging : Less house, more home, is a great mantra. Also, a tip for us word lovers–try to limit yourself to one readable sign per room. Less words = more impact per word. Too many words on the pillows & walls can make a space feel tedious.
But, rules are meant to be broken. Have a large collection of word art? Consider grouping them all together on one wall for major impact. Suddenly, instead of phrases all over the house, you’ll have one wall of words that becomes one statement piece.
In the shot above, I was experimenting with a feature wall at Nest Fest. Grouping all my favorite signs together (that had a common theme–black and white) could make a big impact.
PS, the barn is almost ready for you & Nest Fest this Saturday! The forecast says the high will be 79 degrees + partly cloudy ??????. We’ve got 45 vendors, 4 food trucks, 5 bands and 9 of your favorite authors! Tickets are $10 in advance ?? click here to get your tickets.
